Momentum boost! The sack forced a punt and BYU got the ball back with 1:36 to play and 66 yards to go for a touchdown. Great play calling and clock management got BYU a touchdown in just 1:02 to take a 20-7 lead at halftime with touchdowns on each of its last three possessions.

BYU continued to roll in the second half. The Cougars scored a field goal on the opening series of the second half to take a 23-7 lead. Once New Mexico State got the ball, the Aggies went to work. In four plays, New Mexico State was in the end zone after a 67-yard bomb.

Momentum shift! The score made it a single-digit game, 23-14. For all the momentum gained from scores the last four drives, New Mexico State was right back in this game. The Aggies forced a BYU punt for just the second time in the game.

Mo Moment 5
That second BYU punt was a 58-yard boot that died at the two-yard line with 7:21 to play in the third quarter.

Momentum shift! With New Mexico State backed in a hole, the Cougar defense regained the upper hand. For the rest of the game, New Mexico State netted 12 yards of total offense.
