Just two former BYU Cougars were in action this week. Kyle Van Noy and the Patriots had a bye in the playoffs. That left just Daniel Sorensen and Taysom Hill in action for Wild Card Weekend.
Blue Cougar Football usually limits its weekly NFL report on BYU alumni to the players, but we will note here that former BYU quarterback Steve Sarkisian is still coaching after the Atlanta Falcons defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 26-13. Sarkisian is the offensive coordinator for Atlanta. The Falcons will play at Philadelphia this Saturday.
Daniel Sorensen, Kansas City Chiefs (10-6)
L 22-21 Tennessee Titans
Sorensen made three tackles. They all came in the second half, but it wasn't enough. The Chiefs squandered a 21-3 halftime lead. They couldn't even score after Tennessee muffed a punt in the second half. The Chiefs offense moved backwards two yards, and a 48-yard field goal attempt hit the upright.
To his credit, Sorensen never gave up. When the Titans tried a two-point conversion after taking a one-point lead, he blitzed and sacked the Titans quarterback. (Other than points scored, stats are not kept for two-point conversions.)

Former Cougar Andy Reid is the head coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. Naturally, his season is over as well.

Hill saw action on special teams, but did not record any stats. The Saints will play the Minnesota Vikings next. The NFL Network production Good Morning Football gave Hill some pub before the game.
