BYU Football: Did you Know? (Opposing Players Selected in the NFL Draft)

The Brigham Young Cougars may not have had any players selected in the 2012 NFL Draft, but they were still able to win 10 games in 2011 despite over three-fourths of their opponents having NFL caliber players.

Did you know that 15 players from the teams BYU played in 2011 were selected in the 2012 NFL Draft?
These 15 players came from 10 different teams, which equates to 76.9% of all opponents played and 83.3% of the regular season opponents BYU scheduled.

Both Texas and Utah State had three players drafted, which ties for the most by any 2011 opponent.

Utah State inside linebacker Bobby Wagner was the first player selected. The Seattle Seahawks picked him the 47th pick overall (15th pick of the 2nd round).

San Jose State, Idaho State, and Tulsa are the three opponents who did not have any players drafted.

The vast majority (11) of the 15 players drafted are defensive players.
