BYU Football: Did you know? (Longest Run From Scrimmage)

Brigham Young Cougars reserve running back David Foote had a 56-yard run against the Hawaii Warriors last Saturday. It was the longest run from scrimmage by any BYU player this year. Foote may be a reserve, but he has done something that several starting BYU running backs haven’t done.
Did you know that no starting running back at BYU has had a rush of 56-yards or more since 2005?
Two other reserve running backs have had longer runs than Foote (Ryan Folsom--74 yards at Colorado State, 2010; Mike Hague—87 yards vs. UNLV, 2006), but no starter has.

2011: Michael Alisa had a 42-yard touchdown run vs. Idaho State.
2010: J.J. Di Luigi had a 53-yard run at Air Force.
2009: Harvey Unga had a 52-yard touchdown run at UNLV.
2008: Harvey Unga had a 40-yard touchdown run at Colorado State.
2007: Harvey Unga had a 44-yard run vs. Utah.
2006: Curtis Brown had a 49-yard touchdown run vs. New Mexico.

It isn’t until the 2005 game against Utah when Curtis Brown had a 64-yard touchdown run that a BYU starter carried the ball further than 56 yards.
