BYU Football: Did you know? (Kyle Van Noy's Pick-6)

Over the last two seasons, Brigham Young Cougars fans have gotten used to Kyle Van Noy doing what has rarely, if ever, done at BYU. He did several things in the Poinsettia Bowl that validate this statement. One that deserves special attention is his 17-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Did you know that Kyle Van Noy is just the second BYU player to ever return an interception for a touchdown in a bowl game?
None other than current BYU Athletic Director Tom Holmoe is the other Cougar. Holmoe returned an interception 35-yards for a touchdown 31-years ago in the 1981 Holiday Bowl against the Washington State Cougars to give BYU a 31-7 lead early in the third quarter.

BYU has played in 31 bowl games starting in 1974.

BYU bowl opponents have returned three interceptions for touchdowns (Tulane, 1998; Ohio State, 1985; and Oklahoma State, 1976).
