BYU in NFL, Week 15: Van Noy out again, Williams gets lost in Rodgers' shadow, Sorensen has TFL

Daniel Sorensen (Peter G. Aiken, Getty Images)

Week fifteen was a bit of a downer for former BYU Cougars in the NFL.

Daniel Sorensen had the best game, but it wasn't flawless. Either Jamaal Williams is no longer the best kept secret in the NFL, or Aaron Rodgers just needs to go back to the bench. Van Noy missed his second game for the Patriots, and could Taysom Hill steal the show again with an increased role on special teams?

Here is a complete rundown of former Cougars in the NFL for week fifteen.

Ezekiel Ansah, Detroit Lions (8-6, W 20-10 Chicago Bears)
Ansah had a very quiet day. Although he played over half of the defensive snaps (36 for 52%), he had just one tackle.

John Denney, Miami Dolphins (6-8, L 24-16 Buffalo Bills)
Denney snapped for one extra point, three field goals, and four punts. Those eight plays made up 30 percent of all Dolphins special teams plays.

Daniel Sorensen, Kansas City Chiefs (8-6, W 30-13 Los Angeles Chargers)
Sorensen bounced back from his two tackle showing last week. He was second on the team in tackles with five, one of which was a tackle for loss (two yards). Sorensen played all 64 downs of defense for the Chiefs, plus five special teams plays (20%). On one of the special teams plays, he was credited with muffing the punt, but one site gives Tyreek Hill the muff. Fortunately, the ball was recovered by one of his Kansas City teammates.

Jamaal Williams, Green Bay Packers (7-7, L 31-24 Carolina Panthers)
Williams saw a big drop in his workload and production with Aaron Rodgers back in at quarterback. He didn't score any touchdowns, or have a pass thrown his way. He did make a tackle after one of Rodgers' three interceptions. Williams also had three runs for first downs in the first half. All of them came on the Packers' two touchdown drives. He had a fourth run for a first down on the Packers' only touchdown drive of the second half. In total, Williams was in for 43 snaps (61%) on offense.

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (10-4, W 31-19 New York Jets)
Hill has become a permanent fixture on Saints special teams. He played for the third game in a row, and made one more tackle.  It came on the kickoff to start the second half. Hill got in for 17 special teams plays (57%). He also got some attention on Twitter for fielding punts during warm ups. What does that mean?

Apparently, Hill is also making an appearance in Sports Illustrated this week.

Kai Nacua, Cleveland Browns (0-14, L 27-10 Baltimore Ravens)
Jabrill Peppers was back in the line up, so Nacua went back to playing a reserve role. He still recorded one tackle on defense in the fourth quarter. After going 11 games without a tackle, he now has three games in a row registering at least one tackle. Nacua got 14 snaps in on defense (18%) and two on special teams (8%).
