There has been a lot of debate in recent weeks about what the expectations are for the BYU Cougars this year. That includes whether being bowl eligible would be a "major" accomplishment. In that vein, it seems like it is worth looking at how BYU has, historically, performed after a four-win season.
Did you know that BYU has had a better record six times and a winning record four times following a four-win season?BYU has had a total of 10 four-win seasons, but just one, besides 2017, in the last fifty years. While that one other time (2003) was one of the six times BYU has had a better record, the Cougars still didn't improve enough to qualify for a bowl game (5-6).
Below is the complete list of four-win seasons paired with the record the following season.
