Two BYU Cougars were in Daytona Beach, Florida last week for the Spiral Tropical Bowl, a Senior All-Star game. Micah Hannemann and Tuni Kanuch were members of the National team.

This was an opportunity for Kanuch and Hannemann to workout and train in front of representatives from 27 of the 32 NFL teams, six of nine CFL teams, and an unspecified number of Pro Scouts.

In these showcases, most of the evaluations that the pro representatives put stock in happen during practice time. Understandably, they keep that information confidential.

The events culminated yesterday in the actual game, which the National team lost, 26-20. It is unclear wheather Kanuch played in the game. The game notes do not list him on the official participation report. However, there are no players wearing numbers 60-79, the offensive line numbers, listed for either team.

On the other hand, Hannemann is listed on the participation report. During the game he registered one tackle. It came with approximately 10 minutes left in the third quarter. He came up from his safety position to provide run support and made the tackle after a two-yard gain. The drive ended with the American team punting.

Last year over 60 of the bowl's participants received opportunities in the NFL.
