Poll Results: How many games will BYU win in 2012?

In a very close race, 11 wins (30%) edged out 10 wins (29%) for the number of games the Brigham Young Cougars football team will win in 2012. A perfect 13-0 tied with 9 wins (14%) for third place, followed by 12 wins (6%), 8 wins (4%), and 7 and 6 or less wins each receiving 1.5% of the vote.

I get the feeling BYU will win 11 games.

For me the season comes down to four games. The first two back-to-back road trips. In September it will be at Utah followed by at Boise State, and in October BYU goes to Notre Dame and then to Georgia Tech. If you look at each game individually, they are all winnable games for the Cougars. None of them will be easy, but it isn't unreasonable to say BYU could beat these teams. The problem is the back-to-back scheduling. In the case of Utah and Boise State, the games are only five days apart.

I think BYU will win one and lose one of each. How it happens I am not sure, but I don't think BYU will go 0-2 in road games for September or October. There is too much experience on this team and too much drive to be better than last year.

Thank you to everyone who voted. Don't forget to vote in this week's poll: "Will Cody Hoffman have 1,000 yards receiving this season?"
