BYU Football: Did you know? (Having A 1,000 Yard Rusher)

The Brigham Young Cougars are much better known for prolific quarterbacks, but, over the last 20 years, BYU running backs have regularly broken the 1,000 yard barrier.
Did you know that since 1992, BYU has not gone more than three seasons without having a 1,000 yard rusher?
The three season dry spell has happened only once: 2002-04. However, it will be repeated this year if BYU does not have a 1,000 yard rusher.

Over the past 20 seasons, BYU has had 10 running backs reach 1,000 yards, including five consecutive seasons from 2005-09.

BYU has gone two consecutive seasons without a 1,000 yard rusher three times: 1995-96, 1999-2000, and 2010-11.
