Did you know that Matt Payne’s 47.59 yard average is the second best average in BYU history?Payne had 51 punts for a total of 2,427 yards in 2002. His 47.59 average barely edged out Brad Hunter’s 47.58 average in 1992 for second all-time at BYU. The next best season average for a BYU punter is 45.63 by Mike Mees in 1982 (40 punts, 1,825 yards).
