BYU Football: Did you know? (Back-to-Back Losses)

If you read yesterday's flashback, then you learned that the Brigham Young Cougars had a period of seven years without having back-to-back losses in the same season.
Did you know that this seven year period from game three of 1975 to game three of 1982 is the longest streak in BYU history without two consecutive losses in the same season?
The Cougars lost to Colorado State in game two and Arizona State in game three of 1975. It wasn't until the loss to Georgia in week two and the loss to Air Force in week three of 1982 that BYU repeated this undesirable feat.

BYU played 83 games between the Arizona State game and the Georgia game.

Following the Air Force game in 1982, BYU started another impressive streak without back-to-back losses in the same season. It wasn't until games 11 and 12 of the 1988 season that BYU had its next streak of two consecutive losses in the same season. That is a period of just over six and a half seasons, which is the second longest streak in school history.
