BYU Football: Did you know?

The answer to last week's trivia question, "What BYU quarterback threw the most touchdown passes in a season opening game, and how many did he throw?" is Steve Sarkisian with 6 touchdown passes against Texas A&M in the 1996 Pigskin Classic.

After a year of offering a weekly trivia question, the Thursday Trivia feature is being discontinued. Participation was very minimal. Not even the promise of a $10 gift card for the right answer could solicit responses. Thursday Trivia will be replaced with a weekly "Did you know?" feature.
Did you know that the largest crowd BYU has played in front of was 96,304 on September 21, 1991, against Penn State?
This record could be broken this Saturday. Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, has a capacity of 100,119.

Other big crowds that BYU has played in front of include:
  • 83,818 at Alabama, September 5, 1998;
  • 80,795 at Notre Dame, October 22, 2005;
  • 80,207 at Georgia, September 11, 1982.
